Today marks the start of the first UK Virtual TT event. Hosted by the team at Haywood Sports with the support of Paddle Logger, this event aims to give UK racers an opportunity to focus their paddling. While UK events have on the most part been cancelled, we encourage athletes to continue to train ready for the 2021 season - Haywood Sports offers an excellent online programme.

One thing that helps with training is goal setting. While not the same as a physical event, having a virtual event to work towards or a goal to aim for in terms of times still gives you as a paddler the opportunity to progress and develop ready for 2021.

We are also hoping that this event will give paddlers new to racing an opportunity to dip their toe into competition before coming to one of the awesome GBSUP Events in 2021.

Event Rules

• Be Safe - It's yourself against the clock but please wear an appropriate leash and make sure someone knows you're out on the water. We recommend using the PaddleLIVE feature within the Paddle Logger iOS app - details here.

• Be Fair - We ask you to not use the tides, river flow or wind to your advantage and be honest with your times.

• Own Risk - Remember your taking part at your own risk - paddle in conditions you feel comfortable in.

• Start & Finish - To make it as fair as possible, you must start and finish in the same spot. 

• Any Water - You can paddle on rivers, lakes, canals or the sea, remember to be fair to others however with the conditions you choose. 

• Standing Start - You must start from a standstill on all your attempts.

• Just Before - Snap a photo and tag Haywood Sports and Paddle Logger on Instagram or Facebook  with GO GO GO #HaywoodTT

• You’ve Finished - Tag us in your celebration picture on Instagram or Facebook with FINISHER #HaywoodTT 

• Upload Results - Submit your best time on the haywoodsports.com site before the event closes on the submission page here.

• We Ask - Follow us on Instagram @haywood_sports & @paddlelogger and Facebook to show your support for two small UK companies.
