You already love to paddle. Our mission is to help you do it more and do it better.

Our Story

2014

Where It All Began

UK-based paddleboarder David Walker was struggling to find an affordable way to train and track his paddle adventures. A chance conversation with a friend led to more chats with developer Lewis Smith — and that’s how Paddle Logger began.

2015–2017

Building From Afar

Despite not meeting in person for the first three years of running the business together, we quickly grew our user base. We focused on features that paddlers asked for and slowly built our audience and reputation on engaging with the paddling community.

2018

Launching PaddleLIVE®

Following European Development Funding to R&D ways we could improve watersports safety, we launched PaddleLIVE® — the only fully automated app system to keep lone paddlers connected while on the water.

2018–2022

Growing the App, Growing the Team

We kept evolving Paddle Logger to make it simple, effective, and focused on improving your experience on the water. Our small team expanded, our meet-ups became real, and we picked up a few awards — App of the Day, Great on Apple Watch, Gear of the Year, and more.

2024
Apple Keynote Launch

Apple Keynote – Launching PaddlePLAN®

Following an extensive development period, we brought turn-by-turn navigation to market. PaddlePLAN® allowed paddlers to set up routes, share routes, and download new ones before following them on the water.

This feature was launched in Apple's September Keynote Event alongside new Apple Watches.

Today

Paddling Forward Together

We serve a thriving community of paddlers on different craft around the world, in over 100 countries, with hundreds of thousands of downloads.

It means a lot that you’re here — thanks for paddling with us!

Sustainability

As people who love being in and on the water, it’s only natural for us to want to protect it. We do all we can to give back and minimise our impact on oceans, lakes and rivers - we aim to leave it better than we found it, actually, and we inspire other paddlers to do the same.

As members of 1% for the Planet, a proportion of our annual revenue is committed to female-led non-profit eXXpedition to support their work around tackling ocean plastic.

Impact Reports

In 2020 we decided to formalise our sustainability plans and actions. If you’d like to learn more about how we’re prioritising people and the planet over profits, you can take a look at our reports below.
