#10k her way

While for many of us the paddle season comes to a close, or at least it gets harder to maintain the motivation to stay on the water. However for the Southern Hemisphere, the season is just getting started. We are supporting a fantastic initiative being run by She SUPs - #10kherway…

With a drive to empower women across Australia to get out on the water, all- women’s stand up paddle boarding community, She Sups has launched 10k her way. A virtual event held throughout November and December that encourages women to complete 10km of SUP in any way they wish. Vikki (She SUPs Founder) is stoked to bring this campaign to life as in her words:

It is for EVERY woman. Whether you are attempting your first EVER 10km paddle, aiming for personal bests or just aiming to cover 10km across the next two months. 2020 has been a challenging year for all, but we still have time to come together and achieve something positive for our mental wellbeing and also do something great for ourselves.

Celebrating every woman’s unique SUP journey, 10K Her Way is designed to help female paddlers feel connected to an Australia-wide SUP community, whilst achieving something amazing for their mental and physical health. Passionate about giving back and supporting where she can, Vikki and the SheSUPs team have pledged to donate 5% of each registration to mental health charity, Beyond Blue.

This virtual event is an extension of the overarching She SUPs mission which is to provide a safe space for women to try something new, learn and connect with like-minded people. Fuelled by her own experience, Vikki started She SUPs in 2019, after realizing how much SUP helped her find purpose and community after many years of battling with anxiety.
